2 Minutes in Perspective

2 minutes might seem like a long or short time, so let’s put 2 minutes in perspective.

Approximately 2,600 women between the ages of 40 and 60 die in car crashes each year in the United States.

At the same time, approximately 12,000 women between the ages of 40 and 60 die from breast cancer.

Do you wear a seat belt because you don’t want to be killed in a car crash?

Clicking your seat belt adds approximately five seconds to your drive if you put a seat belt on at the beginning of a trip and take it off at the end. If you drive your car just once a day, in less than a month, you have spent over two minutes just to wear a seat belt.

If you drive in a car just once a day every day for a year, you spend about a total of 30 minutes trying to avoid being killed in a car crash.

So think about it: if you spend 30 minutes to avoid being one of 2,600 women killed each year in the United States in a car crash, doesn’t it make sense to ask for 2 minutes to avoid being one of the 12,000 women who die of breast cancer?
